Know About Different Types of Camper Trailers

Camper trailers are motor vehicles equipped with basic facilities of self-contained travelling homes. They are useful for the people who spend their most of the time in travelling. These trailers provide basic facilities of a home; you can cook, wash and sleep comfortably in them.

There are three different types of these campers differing in structure and material of construction. They are travel trailers, folding camping trailers and fifth-wheel trailers. Each of these campers has basic home facilities. Different types of materials are used to manufacture these campers such as aluminium, steel, fibreglass, plastic etc. The material from which the camper is constructed determines the overall weight of a trailer.

Three main types of campers are discussed below:

Travel trailers: they are mounted on the back of a tow vehicle. They have expendable section which can be pulled to increase living space inside. These trailers range in height; they can be from 10 to 35 feet high. Larger trailers have capacity for up to 8 people to sleep comfortably.

Folding trailers: these trailers are smaller than travel trailers and are light in weight. Platforms of these trailers are made of tough materials but the walls and roofs are made of flexible materials. The flexible walls and roofs allow you to collapse and fold the trailer in compact size before heading towards your destination. And when you reach your destination, you can spread the trailer in large size. They are cheaper than travel trailers and provide space for up to 6 people to sleep in.

Fifth-wheel trailers: they are the hunchbacks of a camper. The upper half of these campers extends over the back of the vehicle; the vehicle generally is a pick-up truck. The beds of these types of trucks have special hitch installed, this hitch is called fifth-wheel or goose-neck hitch. This type of design tends to be more stable and firm compared to others.

These campers can be made luxurious with different additional features, as basic campers have little facilities. You can have different facilities listed below:

* Entertainment systems like T.V., DVD players, video games.
* Electrical systems
* Gas supply
* Cooking appliances
* Refrigerators
* Heating and air condition systems
* Ceiling fans

So, these are the movable homes which you can take anywhere, whether going for a camping or to view countrysides.
